As the boys spent last Thursday checking out the delivery of DSQUARED2 up north i was sent to the opening party for WeSC (WeAretheSuperlativeConspiracy) new store on Neal Street, covent garden.
Tons of free drinks and some great bands and i thought it would be ok to take up the offer and check out what our new brand (coming soon) is all about.

We show up at around 7.30 and theres a stack of skateboards outside, surrounded by tattooed boys with jeans half way down their ass. The bands were really good, think n.e.r.d with girl backing singers, and they were well good.
After about four glasses of vodka and orange we checked out some of the gear, blew up balloons and listened to some bands.
Me not actually knowing much about the company apart from seeing every kid in east london with WeSC stamped on the side of their headphones, i was surprised to see how much clothes they do.
After doing a bit of cheeky research on their website i was then to discover they actually started off making clothes - "life after skate" a more developed style targeting people both within and outside of the skateboarding community.
They got a great range of check shirts, and graphic tees, but i really liked the jeans, looks like they mastered everything from baggy skater type jeans, to skinny they even got a great range of chinos.

Obviously hands down i was really interested in the headphones, i bought my first pair - black and gold Oboes. I was first quite reluctant to spend 40 quid on some headphones but as the shitty ipod ones seem to break after 2 weeks i thought i might as well do it. No word of a lie i stuck em on and it was like being in a club. The sound was wicked!!!
Don't get me wrong i'm not an expert on headphones but they are well priced and wicked, oh and of course they come in pretty much every colour so you can match em to your skate deck.

so listen out as they are coming soon.

Ok. so now Phil has got all excited about one of his favourite brands. It's now my time to get excited and i quote scream like a 'biyatch'.

I cant describe my recent love for a good pair of jeans, the more i get involved with fashion the more i really look at quality and detail. A few years back i was buying jeans from topshop and having to renew them every couple of months as the shape would go and the colour would fade (not in a good way) and after getting my first pair of Dr denims after a while they began to grow even more beautiful with age a little like Helen Mirren, each rip and tear and fade would tell a little story and show my personality through my very own pair of jeans.

I feel some people underestimate the power of great fitting quality jeans, and are quick to buy shitty ones as they are so cheap.
When Phil first mentioned he was interested in stocking Dr Denim i immediately had a little scream of excitement at the hope for staff discount, and of course to help influence the masses to great quality clothing.

So i'm welcoming our new brand coming this fall:
most famous for their exquisite denim, large checked shirts, and fantastic chunky knitwear
This is the brand i'm most excited about this season.

Their first pair of beautifully crafted jeans where titled Unagi - named from the Friends episode where Ross takes up Karate, also translated from Japanese it means eel. Just a little fact for you out there….shh

So anyway, i think we have all noticed the huge increase in success of swedish Denim companies such as Cheap Monday, Nudie, Acne and of course Dr. Denim, so why is this?
i think the Swedish just take so much pride in the quality, wash and fit in denim.

Dr Denim have now branched out to creating t-shirts, knitwear and shirts. Some of my favourite items this season is their check shirts, its moving on to big checks next season, expect lots of grey cardigans purples check shirts and cold blues stripe thirst. oh and polka dot bow ties and bobble knitted hats. and of course some fucking wicked jeans.

We are stepping up our offerings in our Clearance section of our stores this Autumn starting with a collection of my personal favourite brand 'Dsquared2'. Of course I'm screaming like a biyatch inside at the prospect of saving up to 80% off original retail prices. For those of you that don't know, you'd need to sell a couple of kidney's or your least favourite child to Madonna to get anything close to enough money for a pair of Dsquared2 jeans so you too should GET EXCITED!!!

We will be offering a selection from the Fall/Winter 07 collection which was based on the American 'Street Fighting' scene. With shiny black leathers, blood splatted denims, Doberman Printed tee's and shoulder padded knits this collection was a turning point for Dsquared2 as it aimed to pull in a more Masculine market without neglecting an existing loyal fan base.

There is also a selection from the Fall/Winter 08 collection which was inspired buy the 'Ski Punk'. I'm not sure if Punks actually go skiing but if they do, they will be wearing low slung Skinny jeans with knitted polo neck sweaters and attached elbow pads, Over-sized nylon ski pants in bright yellows and reds coupled with slashed under-sized tee's and camo print bomber jackets. This collection from Dsquared2 was a lot less commercial and definitely had the 'Die Hard' Dsquared2 fan in mind as the consumer.

We start by selling a preview collection online which will hit next week, no doubt Tess will be slamming your 'Inbox' with a newsletter or 10 letting you know before it arrives. You will be able to buy it from our stores after Summer Sale ends in the Last week of August. I'll keep you all informed as time goes on... I for one can't bleedin' wait...

I LEARN FROM THE PAST BUT AIM FOR THE FUTURE” – AMH

By designertherapy
I’m waiting around our middlesex store with Therapys buyer Phil, fashionable late in walks Ashley Marc Hovelle – The face behind the upcoming brand AMH.

With a battered vintage suitcase filled with samples and sportin one of his own shirts this guy knows what hes doing.
He presents his garments and me and Phil are lovin em all, and start picking items out that we want for our wardrobes.
In the past Hovelle has designed for the likes of Fred Perry, and Gabicci, and was a buyer for Urban Outfitters. So we are safe to trust this guys genius clothes.
AMH was established on the white isle of Ibiza (of course) only in 2009, and their mission – “To provide quality garments with a retro cool edge style whilst making a statement you believe in.”
Their current range is full of slogan tshirts, vests and sweatshirts mainly influenced by music classics – one of the key pieces is the legendary ”I’m Bad” (in the Jackson font) plastered across, baggy vests, T-shirts and a hoody.
Recently these have been spotted on Celebrities such as Mark Ronson, Kaiser Chiefs, Carl Cox, and MGMT.
This will be hitting our shelves early September so watch this space. Be as excited as us.
